In October 2023 Chipotle Mexican Grill raised the menu prices before the the chain increased its prices in June of 2021 and in August of 2022. Fast forward to December of 2024 and now we are learning that the popular fast-food chain is planning to increase their prices once again, this time by approximately 2%.
But why? In the past there have been various reasons like giving their team members raises but this time it’s because the cost of key ingredients for your favorite burritos has increased. In particular, the rising cost of avocados and dairy are behind this increase along with efforts by the company to have consistent portion sizes. Chipotle also mentioned that the price of beef has increased in the U.S. by an average of 1.9%.
