In Paris, Alfred, representing the Caribbean Island of Saint Lucia, sped past Richardson, clocking in at 10.72 seconds to secure the Olympic Gold Medal. Richardson took home the Silver Medal, while fellow American and training partner Melissa Jefferson claimed the bronze.
