The nation was captured by Beyoncé’s performance at Coachella each weekend and couldn’t get enough of her performance. everything from the wardrobe to the dancing was so amazing that Twitter couldn’t even handle themselves.
Meet Jamal Josef, the man responsible for choreographing the dance performance put on by Beyoncé and her entire crew. This man deserves some serious props and Roland Martin has him covered.
“Last year I was doing a show and you know a lot of things go crazy in the entertainment business. I came home and my gas was off then I think a month later while I was getting ready to do the pre-Grammy’s I had a “pay this by a certain day” letter,” explained Josef. “Car was reposed. I ended up having to sell my apartment. I had to sell my dog.”
Last year was tough but 2018 turned out to be the year for him as he choreographed the step portion of Beyoncé’s Coachella show.
“It was crazy I mean I know it’s big I had never really been to Coachella,” explained Josef. “I was like wow people are really talking about this.”
At first, Josef was determined to keep his part in the choreography a secret but he soon started to receive phone calls from frat brothers and recognition from the internet.
“I just started getting a lot of phone calls and it was my frat brothers,” said Josef. They’d tell him,”‘ I know your choreography. Nobody moves like that.'”
