J.J. Williamson Shares Life In The South And Going To An HBCU
Comedian J.J. Williamson and Tom have two things in common. They’re both country boys and HBCU alums and they are very proud of it.
“Yah I’m the country comedian. I’m originally from Jackson, Mississippi. Yah that’s country,” said Williamson proudly. “Next time I go home I’ll get ready to shell peas and pick up some pecans.” Tom joined telling him that he’s from Tuskegee and is very familiar with country living.
Williamson is alum of Alcorn State University and a proud member of the Sounds Of Dynamite band.
“Absolutely. Alcorn State University. I was down there with the late great Steve McNair,” said Williamson proudly. “I was in the band. I wanted to play football but I went out for a pass and got hit so hard and I said I’ll be out here at halftime.”
Catch him at the Arlington Improv April 19-22.
