Don’t Ask Shawn Stockman To Sing The National Anthem Anymore
Boyz II Men singer Shawn Stockman just made it clear that he is no longer singing the national anthem at sporting events.
TMZ swarmed the crooner and San Francisco 49ers fan at LAX this week to discuss the team’s offseason activity, including adding former Seattle Seahawks star Richard Sherman to the squad.
When talk turned toward the Star Spangled Banner and if Shawn was scheduled to belt it any time soon, the singer replied: “Nah, I don’t sing the national anthem.”
He didn’t elaborate, but it’s likely connected with recent anthem protests, particularly considering that Stockman has performed the anthem before both solo, and as a member of Boyz II Men.
