Clayton English Remembers Life Before ‘Last Comic Standing’
Since winning the Last Comic Standing in 2015 Clayton English has had the ride of his life. His comedy got better and people really began to notice him. But before all that, the comedian had humble beginnings working at Ikea and a circus.
“It’s a lot going on all the time. I’m not used to waking up and seeing elephants all the time,” explained English about his time at the circus. “You know they’re made up of the same skin on your elbow.”
When he won Last Comic Standing he used the money to buy himself one of the most expensive cars ever made, the Aston Martin. However, he gave it to his mom to drive because it made him nervous. But she wasn’t shaken by it at all.
“Like I come back and people are like, ‘I raced your momma,’ laughed English.
If you’re in the Dallas area then catch him at the Arlington Improv March 23-25.
