Deon Cole is one of the busiest guys in the comedy game now. If he’s not on Black-ish or Grown-ish, filming a special, or performing stand up then he’s everywhere else and in between. With his schedule filled, you got to wonder what jokes work the best.
“Everybody wants to hear a different perception on the President. Everybody hurt,” explained Cole. “I can tell how people are really laughing. The more people laugh the more you can tell they’re hurt.”
Cole reminisced on his fellow comedian and friend who helped get his start the late Bernie Mac.
“He used to let me host his show when he was gone,” expressed Cole. “God Bless Bernie.” Mac told Cole in the early days that if he wanted to get on stage, he’d have to come on after him and Cole said it changed his life.
“The first time I did I left on a whole other level,” expressed Cole.
If you’d like some more of Deon and you’re in Dallas then catch him at the Arlington Improv March 16-18.
