Ayesha Curry says her third pregnancy has been the most difficult of all. Four months along, she’s documenting the journey on her lifestyle website goInspo this week.

In her latest essay, Curry has revealed that she’s suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness.

“I wish I could say I feel like a maternal goddess drifting through my pregnancy unscathed by acne, nausea and the occasional ‘ooops I peed a little’, but that would be a lie!”

According to Hyperemesis.org, the condition prevents adequate consumption of food and fluids and can cause weight loss during pregnancy, dehydration, and difficulty in the ability to do daily activities, per Madame Noire.

“For the past 4 months, I’ve barely been able to eat let alone cook. The mere smell of food averts me,” Curry wrote. “… This all has got me in a funk that I can’t seem to shake. I don’t want to say I’m depressed because I take mental health very seriously but I am truly very, very sad. When you can’t do what you love all of a sudden because of an uncontrollable situation, it sucks.”

“I really feel no different than I did in my first trimester. I still have nausea, can’t sleep, pee every 5 seconds and am just so darn tired. I have what docs call Hyperemesis,” Curry added. “This basically means the nausea, incessant sickness and exhaustion probably won’t go away. The only silver linings here are that my itty bitty baby is healthy and Princess Kate has suffered from the same condition during her pregnancies.”

But Ayesha clarified that it hasn’t been all bad, as her husband Steph Curry has been an “absolute angel for me,” she said.

“Always there when I need him as best he can. Always ready to lend a hand for a much loved foot rub and ALWAYS there to put our situation into perspective for me. I just love him and I feel so lucky to be creating a new life with him and growing our family for a third time.”

Ayesha announced she was expecting in February. The Curry’s are already parents to 5-year-old Riley and 2-year-old Ryan.
