There’s Chris Rock, Tony Rock and their youngest brother Jordan Rock! Comedy runs in the family and Jordan is right up there with his brothers in the business of making people laugh and have a good time. With so many comedians in the family, will there be anymore coming down the line?
“Naw I’m the last one. I promise there’s no more,” laughed Jordan. “I’ve been doing comedy for 8 years. Since I was 19.”
The Rock brothers may be the face of funny for their family, but really there can only be one. Who’s really the funniest of them all?
“I’m pretty cool,” said Jordan smoothly. “You know everyone says my sister is funny. So I’ll say my sister just so that I don’t go against popular vote.” But having Chris and Tony Rock to follow after, you’d think the pressure would be on.
“I just try not to suck. I just really try to set the bar low so that I can jump over it every chance I can,” laughed Jordan.
Having the chance to be around such comedy greatness, you wonder if Jordan has gleamed anything from his brothers.
“The best advice I ever got probably, I remember when I started doing comedy and Chris was like,’ there’s no Lil Wayne of comedy’. And he just meant like you have to write jokes. Because Lil Wayne doesn’t write.”
Catch Jordan at the Arlington Improv February 16-18.
