Comedian Roy Wood Jr. Has A Funny New Show
Comedian Roy Wood Jr. has been busy putting in the work! Whether he’s kicking it on the Daily Show with Trevor Noah or tearing it up on the stage, he’s getting it in. He’s coming back as the host of a new show called This Is Not Happening.
“Man you ready for this Black February,” asked Wood. “We ain’t seen this level of Blackativity since 1967. You got Black Panther going to drop. We’re going to take all the Oscars. DMX went back to jail, that’s how Black this February is going to be,” laughed Wood.
Airing Friday at midnight on Comedy Central, This Is Not Happening brings something new to comedy. “It’s just storytelling comedy. It ain’t traditional stand-up. It’s just folks telling regular long form stories,” explained Woods.
Comedians like Tiffany Haddish, Lil Rel, Ms. Pat, DeRay Davis and many more get to share a funny story. “It’s just a place for comedians to tell the stories that normally don’t fit into a normal set or would only hear if they did an hour special,” explained Wood.
