He wants to tell her because she was the woman who was always there for him. Tamar Judith (Margot Bingham) may be his new thang but she doesn’t yet know how to provide the emotional support Charley once did, or at least we get that that’s what Davis thinks. So when he sees how cozy Charley and Remy are, he’s feeling some type of way.

Landry runs this parish, as Charley finds out when every effort to make her Brown Sugar Festival happen is thwarted. Even the weather isn’t cooperating. The festival ends up at the mill, which seems a logical place to do it anyway. It’s scaled down from the bigger festival and everyone but Charley thinks that’s fine. Davis comes through with both his NBA buddies and Tamar Judith, which has Charley feeling some type of way.

Give it to Doc Sexy, he’s persistent. He shows up at the Brown Sugar Festival anyway. Sorry to tell all you Black love, melanin power relationship fans, but this is the end for Nova and Doc Sexy. He wants to be part of an activist power couple. Nova’s just fine being a local dynamo. Kudos to Nova for not letting a man throw her off her square or try to change who she is. She’s uncompromising and more women need to be that clear in themselves.

So does this mean we’ll be seeing White Kang Calvin again? Well, actor Greg Vaughan already let it slip, so yes, married (or maybe unmarried by now) Nova’s ex Calvin is going to make an appearance this season.

After the festival ends, Davis comes in to say a few last words to Charley. He tells her Tamar Judith is no big deal, but she says that Remy is. So no, Davis, Charley ain’t coming back. He apologizes for ‘everything’.  Is this the end for actor Timon Kyle Durrett on the show? I hope not, because I think co-parenting with an ex, as both get into new relationships, has many layers left to explore and somehow, I admit it, dude has grown on me. It would be interesting to hear more of his backstory one day.

Sugar babies, there are four episodes left and they are packing them with drama. The season finale will be a 90-minute special written by Ava DuVernay with an aftershow hosted by none other than Lady O (where is my invite Oprah?)  That last episode happens oh-too-soon on November 15tth, so get your tissues (cause you know you’re going to need them) DVR’s and Twitter fingers ready.
