Former President Obama and people in his group are reportedly encouraging the Former Massachusetts governor Deval Patrick for president in 2020.
According to a Politico article, Obama is a close friend of Patrick and thinks him to be among a very small group with strong political talents and has “privately encouraged him to think about it, among others”
Deval thinks otherwise as he says “I’m trying to think about how to be helpful, because I care about the country, and I’m a patriot first. It’s way, way too soon to be making plans for 2020,”
Even so, people who worked under the Obama Administration agree that Patrick Deval would be a good choice for the presidency in 2020. They see him as “a perfect match, the natural continuation of Obama’s legacy”
Some other names that have been mentioned as good candidates for the Presidential election in 2020 are Senators Kamala Harris and Corey Booker.
