Apparently, Shea Moisture didn’t learn much from the Pepsi debacle. The company is pulling an ad after an online backlash over it, which seems to exclude the Black women that helped them become relevant.

Online commenters dragged the brand for an ad that focuses on a biracial appearing woman and two white women, all struggling with various hair issues. Black women were vocal about their disdain for the ad, prompting Shea Moisture to issue a statement and pull the ad.

white people may need it to help with lice, lice does not live in moisture, all natural hair products are high in price, go back to basic and leave products that don’t work for the people who believe the hype

This is a non issue. If you are in business to make money, would you care who used your products. Sometimes Blacks make mountains out of mole-hills.

  3. Women of color have known about and been using Shea Butter as a moisturizer for years.
Since white folks now know of it-it is in vogue.

If anything, women of color should have been included in the advertisement-not just white chicks!!!!!!!!!!!

This commercial is nothing more than a Rorschach test. If you’re a racist or have a problem with race you will see problems with this commercial.
