Reports of T-Boz wanting to adopt a baby first surfaced in September 2015, when TMZ reported that the TLC singer made her plans known while being questioned in a $40 million lawsuit over the VH1 TLC biopic.
Eighteen months later, in honor of International Women’s Day, Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins on Wednesday (March 8) revealed that she has indeed adopted a baby boy.
The 45-year-old artist shared a sweet photo of herself planting a kiss on the baby on his first birthday, along with the caption:
T-Boz’s adoption plans became known in 2015, when she was testifying in the $40 million defamation lawsuit brought by TLC’s former manager Perri “Pebbles” Reid over how she was portrayed in the VH1 biopic “CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story.” During questioning, T-Boz was asked if she had spoken to Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas regarding the lawsuit and that’s when she revealed she had only talked to her group member about adopting a child.
Several years prior, T-Boz had spoken to then-CNN host Larry King about wanting to adopt a child from Haiti, following the devastating 2012 earthquake. But red tape reportedly stalled that adoption process. No word yet on whether this new beauty is from Haiti.
The baby is T-Boz’s second child. She has a teen daughter named Chase Anele Rolison with rapper Mack 10.
