NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) — A Pennsylvania judge who refused to throw out Bill Cosby‘s criminal sex assault case will keep the case through trial.

Montgomery County Judge Steven O’Neill has rejected defense efforts to toss the case over an agreement Cosby said he had with prosecutors to not be charged.

Cosby is charged with sexually assaulting a woman in 2004.

Lawyers who know O’Neill say the early rulings don’t suggest how he might rule at trial.

The defense hopes to limit testimony from other accusers and squelch Cosby’s deposition from a related lawsuit.

O’Neill took the bench in 2002 after working as a prosecutor and defense lawyer. He has run a highly-regarded county drug court for 10 years.

His high-profile court cases include the drug arrests of former Philadelphia Eagles Coach Andy Reid’s sons.
