Natalie Cole, legendary R&B singer and daughter of Nat King Cole, died at a Los Angeles hospital, entertainment website TMZ reports.
Cole, who passed due to complications from ongoing health issues, was 65-years-old.
“Natalie fought a fierce, courageous battle, dying how she lived … with dignity, strength and honor. Our beloved Mother and sister will be greatly missed and remain UNFORGETTABLE in our hearts forever,” read the statement from her son Robert Yancy and sisters Timolin and Casey Cole.
Cole, who struck gold with “Unforgettable,” a collaboration with her late father, was struggling with a number of health issues in recent years, according to TMZ.
This is a developing story.

I am still in disbelief and feel a sadness I can’t express about the passing of #NatalieCole. I saw the news earlier today–before it was anywhere on the internet or social media…I know her ex-husband and saw the news on his page. I couldn’t believe it! Natalie was my first introduction to ‘loving & needing music” Such an classy elegant artist…she carried the name Cole with a grace that is undeniable. Her father would be proud. I’m sure I will be in shock all day.
