My ancestry is made up of geniuses, mystics, astrologers, seekers, philosophers and doers who confirm my inherent gifts and talents. I give them credit for everything – from the craft that I practice to the wisdom in my heart. Time spent with my fairy godmother and cousins and sisters and parents always feels like an adventurous voyage to the Holy Grail. Over the past few weeks, I have met with a number of people who are making significant changes in their lives. We have entered what I would like to refer to as “shit or get off the pot” astrology (pardon the expression), which puts the pressure on to live in accordance with our truth and beliefs. That, my friends, is the mono-myth, i.e., the Hero’s Journey as coined by Joseph Campbell. It is the decision to set off on a path all your own that makes you the hero of your story – your myth. The potent energy between eclipses currently in effect calls for drastic measures that inspire honesty and courage, as you interject important course corrections. Pope Francis in my opinion is a great example of what it means to walk your talk. He is a Sagittarius after all, a sign known to travel the ends of the earth in search of ultimate truth.
This Wednesday as we enter Libra season in conjunction with the Autumn Equinox, quickly approaching the Blood Moon (Full Moon) in the sign of Aries on September 27th, tensions will soar provoking a “me against the world” attitude. Mercury retrograde will cause additional stress, while projection will be at an all time high. The trick to navigating the hype will be to openly ask, “What am I truly afraid of?” Pope Francis once said, “where we find hate and darkness may we bring love and hope, in order to give a more human face to society.” Love and Hope starts from within, bringing the catalyst for success to your Hero’s Journey, and mine.
