The final trailer for Annie ahead of its Christmas Day release opens with the orphan reading a letter from her long-lost parents.

“Please take care of our baby — her name’s Annie,” reads Quvenzhane Wallis as the title character. “There’s half a locket around her neck so when we come for her, you know she’s our girl.”

As the classic story goes, rich guy Benjamin Stacks (Jamie Foxx playing the Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks inspired role) becomes a part of Annie’s life for his own selfish purposes, but soon begins to see her as more than just a way to pump up his mayoral candidacy.

The trailer also features Foxx playing the piano and some of Sia’s “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile.”

Will Gluck’s re-imagining of the movie-musical also stars Cameron Diaz as the mean-spirited orphanage owner Miss Hannigan.

The film, produced by Jay-Z and Will Smith, hits theaters Dec. 19.

Foxx and Wallis also appeared together on the December cover of Essence magazine.

Foxx, Diaz and Wallis debuted the trailer on Monday while on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
