There were lots of cheers and happy tears last night as Keke Palmer and Sherri Shepherd each made their Broadway debut in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella at the Broadway Theatre.

The bow was also one for the history books, as Palmer became the show’s first African American to play the title role.

As previously reported, Shepherd plays the role of the Wicked Stepmother. Her run will end on Nov. 25, when NeNe Leakes of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” takes over the role.
