Remember the ‘beef’ the Chicago rapper was involved in with Drake? Well he’s finally admitting that his ex-girlfriend Serena Williams, was the cause of it all.
Here’s a quick recap.
In 2012 Common and Serena were in a very public relationship. Drake, who’s no stranger to mentioning a pretty lady or two in his songs, name dropped Serena a few times.
What happened next shocked the rap game. Common, who is known for his laid back demanor, responded on a song called, ‘Sweet’ and then again on ‘Stay Schemin’.
The two kept their disdain for one another in the booth (thankfully) and soon after Serena and Common called it quits.
Fast forward to present day and the MC is opening up about the famous tension between he and the Canadian crooner.
He tells VladTv:
“I think it was an emotional thing. I was feeling like…the Drake, Serena situation. I didn’t know what was going on with that. And I didn’t know if he was throwing things, shots at me.
