Thieves Steal Car With Baby Inside, Return Baby

St. Petersburg Police are looking for thieves accused of stealing a car from a church parking lot with a baby inside. On Sunday afternoon around 2:15 p.m., police say Shekeya Gibson and N’Dia Knight were unloading tables and chairs from their Toyota Highlander at a local church. They left their car unlocked and keys in the ignition with Gibson’s 10-month-old baby girl, Xenobia, in a car seat inside the vehicle. Read more.

Lawsuit: NFL Gave Former Players Risky Drugs to Mask Severe Injuries

A lawsuit filed on behalf of eight former NFL players alleges that that league was so profit driven that it illegally administered narcotics and painkillers to mask severe injuries, the Associated Press reports. Those players are now claiming that the risky treatments have resulted in pricey and painful medical complications. According to AP, which got an advance copy of the lawsuit before it was filed in U.S. District Court in San Francisco, the players allege that they were never warned of the side effects of the drugs they were given. They also claim that the league received the drugs illegally, without prescriptions, in an attempt to speed the recovery time of injured players so that the league could benefit by showcasing top talent. Mike Myers says Kanye spoke ‘truth’ about George Bush during Katrina telethon

In a recent interview with GQ Magazine, Mike Myers said he was “super proud to have been next” to Kanye West during a 2005 Hurricane Katrina telethon. The telethon is best remembered for the moment when West called out President George W. Bush for the lack of response to people in need in New Orleans. Myers said he wasn’t familiar with West’s work before the two were paired together for the telethon and that upon meeting West, “he said he was going to take some liberties with the thing.” Read more.

WNBA to Actively Target LGBTQ Community

The WNBA plans to launch a marketing campaign to attract gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered fans to its games, according to theAssociated Press. The effort includes participation in pride festivals and parades and direct advertising, making it the first professional sports league to specifically target the LGBTQ community, which represents 25 percent of the WNBA fan base.
