The new biographical piece is called Kobe Bryant‘s Muse, and aims to shed light on Bryant’s on and off-court experiences, and will detail the motivations and challenges in his basketball career.
UPI reports:

The 35-year-old entered the NBA directly from high school in 1996, and has been with the Los Angeles Lakers for his entire career. He has spent most of the 2013-14 season on the sidelines due to injury, and his upcoming rehabilitation will be touched upon in the documentary.

“We are thrilled that Kobe has given us this unprecedented access,” Showtime vice-president Stephen Espinoza says. “[It] will allow our viewers to witness such a challenging period of time in the life of one of the NBA’s greatest players.”

“Kobe’s quest for greatness transcends rivalries,” director Chopra adds. “I’m excited by his and Showtime’s willingness to go down this rabbit hole together. I’m confident audiences will be intrigued by what comes out the other side.”

Kobe Bryant’s Muse will debut on Showtime some time in the fall.
