Lupita Nyong’o flashed a cheeky smile as she accepted her award for “Best Supporting Actress” at the 45th annual NAACP Image Awards and charmed as (as always) with a whimsical acceptance speech. After planting her berry lips on her Image award statue backstage, the “12 Years A Slave” starlet visited the media room where she gushed over her win. “It is a deep, deep honor to be holding this trophy,” she told the room.

Oprah Winfrey has been very vocal about her adulation for the 30-year-old, Kenyan actress and Lupita is equally as adoring. Lupita raved about all she’s learned from Oprah, saying:

“Oprah’s career is my advice. She grew my mom up and in so doing she grew me up as well. I think the world is a better place because Oprah Winfrey has lived and has done what she felt called to do. She is extraordinary. I couldn’t possible pick one thing Oprah has taught me. She has taught me so much by just being herself.”

Well said!
