George Zimmerman’s attorney, Mark O’ Mara reached notoriety when his expertise assisted the self-appointed neighborhood watchman in getting away with the murder of unarmed teen, Trayvon Martin. O’Mara is now facing an ethics complaint in regard to his handling of the Trayvon Martin trial.
The Orlando Sentinel reports that the state bar association is investigating, although it is unclear who filed the complaint and what allegations O’Mara faces.
If you’ve been watching like I’ve been watching, you’d see that O’Mara’s relationship with Zimmerman since his acquittal has been strained. During the domestic disputes Zimmerman found himself involved in, O’Mara made it clear that he was no longer representing his former client.
O’Mara even went back on his word to Zimmerman. Initially, he told the acquitted murderer that he’d represent him pro bono, but shortly after Zimmerman walked free, he was slapped with a $2.5 million bill. O’Mara claims his team worked 3,000 hours and at $400 an hour, Zimmerman racked up a pretty hefty bill.
O’Mara has not made a comment.
