Former NFL star Terrell Owens is hoping to find glory (and a paycheck) in an entirely different sport.
Fox has announced the premiere date of its latest reality show offering, “Stars In Danger: The High Dive,” a two-hour special to air Wednesday Jan. 9.
The Bunim/Murray-produced special, based on a long-running German format, follows eight celebrities – four men and four women – as they endure an intense training period before competing in a series of Olympic-style dives, including solo high diving and synchronized diving, from a variety of heights.
T.O., whose money and foreclosure problems have made headlines in the past year, is in the cast alongside “Jersey Shore” co-star JWoww, “Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills” siblings Kyle and Kim Richards and actor Antonio Sabato Jr., among others. [Scroll down for the full cast.]
Fox greenlighted the special in October, shortly after ABC gave a series order to the similar Celebrity Diving, which was just scheduled to premiere March 19.

One of the guys I work with at DISH told me about this special the other day, and in all honestly I’m pretty interested in it. It might just be that I want to see a couple of these celebrities (Owens and JWoww) belly flop, but either way I’ll still check out what it has to offer. It’s not actually a show just a 2-hour special right? Whatever it is I’ll still make sure to set a recording timer for it on my DISH Hopper. I have 2,000 hours of entertainment I can store now, so either way I have plenty of room for it as a series or just a special. I’m looking forward to it!
