The Hollywood baby boom is in full effect and the latest celeb to welcome a new bundle of joy is Stomp the Yard actor Brian White.
His wife of four years, Paula Da Silva, gave birth to a healthy baby girl named Layla Simone at 11:01 a.m. Thursday morning. She weighed in at 5 pounds, 8 ounces and 12 inches.
“Today was the most amazing day of my life,” Brian shared with his Instagram followers. “By @pauwhite ‘Welcome to the world, Layla Simone…your daddy @brianjwhite and I are totally smitten with you, princess ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥’ #mylifeasadad.”
During an interview with Rolling Out last month, Paula said “I can’t even begin to describe how happy I am right now.”
“Brian is going to be a great father, and I couldn’t ask for a better partner,” she gushed.
“I feel blessed beyond belief,” Brian chimed in.”To know that you have a child coming into the world, it only makes you want to work even harder, and do all of the things that I know are important to be both a good husband, and a good father. I’ve been reflecting a lot — particularly when it comes to my parents — and just thinking about the things that I admired in them, and the things that I want for myself and for Paula.”
He went on to say that their decision to have a baby was a well-thought-out plan.
“When we made the decision that it was time to start a family, we were very smart in our decisions,” Brian explained. “We didn’t take extra vacations, or spend money in the club buying bottles. … No, we were investing in our property, and making sure that we thought ahead to make sure that our kids’ lives will be taken care of.”
As far as what’s next for the actor, Brian’s new film titled My Favorite Five is scheduled to be released later this year. According to the IMDb page, it’s a romantic comedy starring Rochelle Aytes, Jay Ellis and DeRay Davis.
Congrats to the happy couple!
