Former Black-Owned Beachfront In California Has Been Legally Returned To Descendants After 100 Years
California Governor Gavin Newsom has officially enacting a bill that will return the rights of a formerly Black-owned beachfront illegally seized a century ago back to the living heirs of Willa and Charles Bruce.
Earlier this week, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 to return a stretch of beachfront land in Southern California to the descendants of a Black couple who purchased the land 97 years ago.
