1. Ray McDonald

A grand jury indicted former San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Ray McDonald on one count of rape of an intoxicated person.

2. Warren Sapp

The former NFLer was arrested for soliciting a prostitute during Super Bowl 49 weekend. Subsequently he was was fired from NFL Network for the arrest.

3. Josh Gordon

Browns star wide receiver Josh Gordon has been suspended for the entire NFL season for another violation of the league’s substance abuse policy.

4. Josh Brent

Josh was sentenced to 180 days in jail after a trial in January in the intoxication manslaughter death of teammate Jerry Brown, a practice squad linebacker for the Cowboys.

5. Dimitri Patterson

The Jets “indefinitely” suspended the veteran cornerback after he left the team without contacting the organization.

6. Floyd Mayweather

Mayweather pled no contest to two counts of misdemeanor harassment, stemming from threats to his children. In addition to the 90-day sentence Mayweather was ordered to complete 100 hours of community service, a 12-month domestic-violence program and to pay a fine of $2,500. He began serving his county jail sentence and was released in August 2012.

7. Darren Sharper

Sharper was arrested and accused of sexual assault in California. He was subsequently charged with multiple sexual assaults in Louisiana and Arizona and is currently serving time in prison.

8. Ray Rice

Ray was arrested and subsequently indicted for third-degree aggravated assault relating to an incident where he punched his girlfriend in the face.

9. O.J. Simpson

O.J. Simpson (retired NFL): robbery and Kidnapping. Currently serving nine to 33 years.

10. Raw Carruth

Rae Carruth (NFL) was sentenced to 18 yrs. for his role in the shooting death of his pregnant girlfriend.

11. Plaxico Burress

Plaxico Burress (NFL): criminal possession of a weapon. He took a plea deal and was released in June of 2011.

12. Dwayne Goodrich

Dwayne Goodrich (NFL): criminal negligent homicide; hit and run and sentenced to 12 1/2 years.

13. Aaron Hernandez

Hernandez allegedly executed Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado in 2012 and then, last summer, the bullet-riddled body of Odin Lloyd, a park league football player from Roxbury, turned up just around the corner from Hernandez’s McMansion in North Attleboro.

14. Michael Vick

Michael Vick (NFL): conspiracy related to dog fighting. Served 23 months in prison.

15. Terry ‘Tank’ Johnson

Terry ‘Tank’ Johnson (NFL): probation violation/weapons possession. Served 60 of 120 day sentence.

16. Donte Stallworth

Donte Stallworth (NFL): DUI manslaughter. Sentenced to 30 day incarceration and 2 years house arrest.

17. Darryl Henly

Darryl Henly (NFL) was sentenced to 41 yrs. for drug trafficking and conspiracy to commit murder.

18. Pete Rose

Pete Rose (Retired/MLB): tax evasion. Sentenced to five months and permanently banned from the sport.

19. Darryl Strawberry

Darryl Strawberry (retired MLB): drug possession, solicitation of prostitution. Sentenced to 18 months. (

20. Jayson Williams

Jayson Williams (NBA): convicted in the fatal shooting of his limo driver. Took a plea and was sentenced to five years. AP

21. Tom Payne

Payne was a former NBA player and a convicted serial rapist.

22. Mike Tyson

Mike Tyson (Boxing): sentenced to six years for rape (served three) and sentenced to one year for road rage (served 9 mos.)

23. Tonya Harding

Tonya Harding (Figure Skating): Nancy Kerrigan attack. Three years probation, $100,000 fine and 500 hrs. community service.

24. Marion Jones

Marion Jones (Track & Field): obstruction of justice and perjury. Sentenced to 6 months in jail and 200 hrs. community service.

25. Mike Danton

Mike Danton (NHL) was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit and in 2004, he plead guilty to attempting to hire a hit-man, who was actually a police dispatcher, to murder David Frost, his agent, and was sentenced by the U.S. District Judge to seven-and-a-half years in federal prison.

26. Chad Johnson

Chad Ochocinco / Chad Johnson was arrested for head-butting his new bride, Evelyn Lozada.
