Aaron Cole is stepping into a new season. In an Instagram video, Cole announced to the world the birth of his son, Omari Anthony Cole.

He did so in a musical fashion, delivering a rap with his pregnant wife by his side. Omari was born back on October 19.

“Okay, Omari done upped the pay,” he rapped. “I cover my family. The spirit is heavy. My God providing the way. Oh my God, He providing the way.”

With this latest announcement, it’s as if the two-time Dove Award winner is taking his latest album’s name “Sorry, I Changed” quite literally. The 13-track project contains themes of self-love, staying faithful, and overcoming life’s challenges. It showcases Cole’s growth not only as an artist, but as a human.

“This time around, I’ve had all kinds of changes, and I’ve realized that life changes you, as you go through real-life situations,” he told CCM Magazine back in April. “When you start to change and give your life to God, you can’t do some of the things you used to do. For you to reach the next level that God has called you to reach, you have to change.”

This evolution is leading Cole to new life experiences such as fatherhood. Despite only being in his late 20s, Cole has remained ahead of the curve throughout his career. He’s been in the music industry since 15 years old and has made music well before that age. It’s only right that he keeps grinding whether musically or personally.

“The Lord has blessed him with a deep well of talent, yet he grinds like he’s ungifted,” said his frequent collaborator TobyMac. “That’s a rare combination that I will lock arms with anytime, anywhere.”
