He’s been planning this from the very beginning. Now, just like that, Teresi is out of prison and hoping to get closer to his son, but definitely not “to play catch” or go to a game. Smells like a set up is on the way and we can only hope that Teresi is playing a game against Mak and Saxe and doesn’t go against his family.
Tommy is skeptical about Teresi’s motives and his mother, Kate (Patricia Kalember) advises him that he should move with caution. She knows there’s something that Teresi wants from Tommy. Tommy should also be skeptical of Kanan (Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson) who’s coming for that top spot and doesn’t care who he has to set up or rob to take it back.
Someone else skeptical about motives – Tasha. She’s not feeling the new Three The Hard Way trio because she knows Kanan is still up to no good and that he’s the reason Tariq got into harm’s way in the first place. Do we think the two of them ever had a thing at one point because it always seems like their tension is based around something they’re keeping secret. Together.
Kanan approaches Tommy about getting down with his organization and Tommy tells him that he has to pay up front to get cut in. So in true shady business fashion – Kanana robs Cristobal (Matt Cedeno), with the help of 2-Bit (Michael J. Ferguson) and Spank (Omar Scroggins). Getting 2-Bit to turn on Dre (Rotimi) was easy for Kanan, especially after Dre flipped out on him for killing Lorenzo but he gives the credit for the kill to the new guy Arturo (Victor Almanzar) to keep Diego Jiminez off his ass.
After Kanan robs Cristobal, who just became Dre’s second in command, for 300K, Kanan has a spot in Tommy’s business.
Tommy’s also now back in business with Ghost. Just like the old days when they washed money at the wash-n-folds and at the club, Tommy needs a new cover to clean his money. And just so happens that Ghost needs money to fund his Queens Child Project.
Ghost and Councilman Tate (Larenz Tate) are still trying to reach their fundraising goal for the QCP, and are taking meetings with potential investors. A meeting with a beautiful top-tier investor, the mysterious Linda, (Gabrielle Beauvais)goes sour when Ghost feels like she can be persuaded to cut them a large check by handling his business in her hotel room. His lack of professionalism and her lack of interest in their project cost them the investment.
Tate and Ghost now realize they have vastly different visions and approaches to this project. And given that this is Power, a clash is inevitable.
QUOTABLE: “Newsflash, everybody like everybody more than they like Dre” – Kanan
