Three Easy Outfits You Can Pull Off For Memorial Day

With Memorial Day quickly approaching, many of us are eagerly thinking of what activities we plan to tackle on the three-day weekend: Barbecuing with friends, going out with family, posing for selfies, basking in bathing suits, all of it. Now if you’re like me, the holiday weekend probably sprung up on you — busy weeks working, tackling that side hustle, and all the in-betweens, you may have forgotten that Monday you’ve got off.

Now you’re receiving texts on weekend plans, but honestly have no idea what to wear. Well, here are a few outfit ideas you can try and tackle, depending on your style:

When Rihanna put her own spin on this two-piece set, it immediately prompted me to think about nudes and neutral palettes and just how poppin’ they can look with a bold lip (or just a fierce attitude). I’m also a huge fan of a matching two-piece set because you can swap them in and out as you need.

If you want to strut in a nude dress, this $670 NBD suede dress has a backless cut and laced grommet details. Is it a matching set? Nope, but it’s definitely an easy way of jumping back into neutrals if you need the push. Heels? Yes. Flats? Yes. The laced detailing already makes this dress super chic and playful for date night, now it’s all about putting on a sweet pink lip with it and calling it a day!

If you’re all for linen (which you should be because linen is a great fabric), you can rock this two-piece set from Urban Outfitters, like this $70 tan linen blazer and the accompanying $49 high-rise linen shorts. This $66 Tobi off-the-shoulder crop top is also an amazing option, especially with the $66 accompany skirt that offers pockets — hey, you guys know that pockets are super important.

This $40 mustard set from Fashion Nova not only has a spaghetti strap crop top and wide leg pants, but also features a high-waist cut (so it’s all about showing off the curves.) Something like this is a wardrobe staple you can pair with almost anything in your wardrobe since the color is so muted: Throw an over-sized denim jacket on top to add body and dimension, or toss a ton of jewelry on to give music-soul vibes the entire weekend long.

PLUS-SIZE

This $130 lace-up shirt dress by Eloquii has seemingly got all the makings of a winner to me — it’s fit in the bodice yet flares at the bottom, has corset-style lace-up side detailing, and pairs off the shoulder. For a look like this, you can throw on some white heels and a white blazer to dress it up, or some comfy sandals and some sunshades to complete a casual-yet-glam look.

When Yara Shahidi wore this absolutely beautiful Gucci robe-style dress, that’s when I knew that graphics and colorful patterns were definitely going to pop for spring. Of course, if you are going to stunt for Memorial Day, you might as well go for the Gucci! This pleated-printed Gucci dress, which retails for $5,100, has all the classic making of a Gucci print with florals, animal motifs, and a ton of personality. And for a looser fit, this $5,500 velvet-trimmed silk midi dress from the line is also fab (I NEED THIS).

SPEND

For a high-neckline floral dress, this $252 Ted Baker dress can easily be dressed up for brunch or church, as well as this $267 scalloped dress that boasts a nectar print in the middle of the skater fit. You can always wear pastel or nude heels to offset a colorful dress, in case you’re worried about clashing tones, colors, and prints.
