Rap-A-Lot CEO J. Prince is arguably one of the more well connected men in all of music, if not the world. So when it came to re-telling his life in 1997, Prince is keen on making sure every detail gets told, including one where he tried to warn Biggie of a revenge shooting against him after Tupac’s killing in 1996.

According to a TMZ source, Prince met with Biggie and Puff Daddy in February 1997 after hearing that they were shooting the now-classic “Hypnotize” video in Los Angeles. Prince was in the city earlier that month with Scarface and heard discussions about a possible hit on Biggie. Prince informed both Puff and B.I.G. of his concern and suggested that they both leave L.A. for their own safety and well being. But, they were allegedly unmoved by the threats heard on the streets.

Stories like this and more are set to be featured in Prince’s highly anticipated memoir The Art and Science of Respect. It’s due out on June 22nd.
