Melvin Riley: ”Oh Sheila’ Is Still Something That The Women Love’
Melvin Riley from Ready For The World is celebrating 35 years in the music industry this year.The Oh Sheila Love You Down tour and Oh Sheila contest are especially celebrating at each stop. That song put a lot Sheila’s on the map!
“It is coming up on 35 years. I know it came kind of quick,” expressed Riley. “I was actually in college at the time I was walking around my bedroom. I heard the song on the radio and I dropped. I was 18-years-old when it happened and we’ve been on the road ever since.”
Riley to this day gets a lot women named Sheila at the concert that continues to remind him of just how influential the song is.
“Everytime we have a concert we have a lot of Sheila’s,” laughed Riley. “Once we do a show, after 35 years Oh Sheila is still something that the women love.”
