Rap mogul Suge Knight will soon go on trial for murder and he wants Casey Anthony‘s attorney Jose Baez to represent him, according to The Blast.

Sources close to the situation say Knight’s team recently reached out to the famed defense attorney about the possibility of representing Suge.

Baez successfully got Anthony acquitted in 2011 for the murder of her daughter. Since then, he has become one of the elite defense litigators in the country, and also a New York Times bestselling author.

He also successfully represented Aaron Hernandez and cleared him of a double murder charge from a 2012 drive-by shooting. Hernandez was already serving a life sentence for the murder of Odin Lloyd.

Suge claims he was acting in self-defense when, in 2015, he allegedly drove his truck through the parking lot of a burger restaurant in Compton and ran over Terry Carter, 55, and another man.

Carter later died and the other guy was injured.

Prosecutors claim Knight hit the gas on his truck and intentionally mowed down the men over a business feud.

Knight has pleaded not guilty to all charges and his family believes Baez has what it takes to help his case and present their defense that Suge was acting in self-defense.

Baez reportedly agrees with Suge’s team but before the deal is fully inked, the attorney, who is based out of Florida, must work out the logistics of moving his team out to Los Angeles as they research and prep for the case. According to the report, both sides are extremely interested in working together.

Suge was temporarily moved out of the L.A. County jail while he was hospitalized at USC Medical Center. He was transferred back to the Men’s Central Jail on Friday (April 6) night just before 10 P.M.
