Wedding bells rang in Beverly Hills over the weekend for model Chanel Iman and NFL star Sterling Shepard. Iman first met Shepard at fomer New York Giant Victor Cruz’s birthday party, where the two were invited as guests.
The New York Giants wide receiver introduced himself to his then future fiancée. A little over a year into their relationship, Shepard proposed and the couple got engaged in time for Iman’s 27th birthday.Vows were exchanged on March 3. The wedding had a “classic vintage” theme created by celebrity wedding planner Mindy Weiss.
Iman said the motif was her preference because she wanted a timeless look, something that she wouldn’t regret 20 years later.“My stylist, Anita Patrickson, really took control and handled dressing the entire wedding party,” Iman said. “We’ve worked together for more than five years, so she has a real understanding of what I gravitate toward,” she continued.
During the ceremony, Iman wore a silk tulle embroidered Zuhair Murad gown with shimmering 3D intricate needlework. The 27-year-old model said the Camila gown was “chic and unusual but also something that felt a little vintage.” Shepard wore a Hugo Boss tuxedo for the ceremony.
For the reception, the model changed into a blush pink tulle accentuated by the dress’s deep V-neck cut and intricate needlework.
The 25-year-old groom changed to a white jacket with black trim edges as he reportedly carried his bride onto the dance floor.
The wedding was attended by the couple’s relatives and close friends including Chrissy Teigen, Gabrielle Union, and fellow model Joan Smalls. Iman marched down the aisle accompanied by her mother.
The altar was adorned with fresh white flowers. Weiss also designed the reception venue with white roses and lots of lights, as well as low centerpieces on the tables coupled with silk linens and rose-gold chairs.
