SILK: ‘We Didn’t Really Break Up’
The r&b group SILK is famous for their song Freak Me that made women go crazy. The 5 man group consists of Gary “Lil G” Jenkins, Jimmy Gates Jr., Gary “Big G” Glenn, Johnathan Rasboro and Timothy Cameron. Sherri Shepherd couldn’t resist and talked about losing her mind when they performed on the cruise a few years back.
“Lost my mind. Ran up to the stage. I was running and grinding, ” laughed Shepherd.
Lil G laugehd and responded, “You were running and grinding at the same time? That’s some skill.”
Season 12 of TV One’s UNSUNG will be feature an episode on SILK. It’s set to unpack all the history and the mystery behind this iconic group like whether they broke up or not.
“We didn’t really break up,” explained Lil G. “I stepped out to do some plays but we were still doing our thing.”
Big G chimed in saying,”We tried to grow up in our own way and you know the public wanted to hear something else.”
