Jada Pinkett Smith is not afraid to speak her mind when awards season comes around. Last year, she spoke about the lack of diversity at the Oscars and now she’s got some choice words for the Golden Globes.

On Twitter, Jada pointed out how Tiffany Haddish didn’t get nominated for her role in Girls Trip, despite her being one of the breakout performers of the year.

Jada spilled even more tea when she accused the Hollywood Foreign Press (who makes the nominations) of not watching Girls Trip at all. Swipe through to read Jada’s whole spill on the subject.

I didn’t see the movie because I heard so many reviews comparing it to Bridesmaids. I didn’t understand all the hype about that movie either. Found it to be a most disgusting, vulgar piece of garbage. Peeing from a zip line is no worse than a woman in a bridal gown defacating in the middle of the street. Nothing funny about either of those sterling, cinematic moments. If Jada and company want everyone to know that we can be as gross as everyone else, then I guess mission accomplished. We have overcome!

Hopefully, the Academy Award will place Girls Trip on the nomination list for best picture to appease Mrs. Smith for the Golden Globes snubbing of that great cinematic masterpiece.

  3. Girls Trip was a terrible movie. The profanity, especially from Tiffany Haddish’s character was awful and unnecessary. The zip line section was just plain gross.

I’m relieved to see that other women had the same reaction I had to this movie. I did not enjoy it, and I’ll leave it at that. But with all her years in the movie industry I do not understand why Jada Pinkett thought this was such a masterpiece???

  5. I did not enjoy the movie either. It was a typical black movie making black men look like dogs and black women look like sluts. Nothing new for black movies.

  6. Girls Trip was garbage! A movie where a group of black women ( however light or bright) act a fool in a hotel lobby and urinate on people on Bourbon St from a zip line: is not funny to me but is embarrassing.

  7. I may be in the minority on this one, but this movie was not funny to me. It was profane, vulgar and silly. I usually don’t go to the movies to see this type of film, but I love Queen Latifah and decided to treat myself to seeing her on the big screen. Not worth the time of the cost or the ticket.
