Six weeks after Hurricane Maria, Puerto Rico sustained horrible damage. With power outages and water shortages, the island is still ailing with many of its stores being closed.
However, employees working for three stores, in particular, have still been receiving checks in the mail despite the storm’s damage according to ABC News Arizona.
The TJX Company, which is over TJ Maxx, Home Goods and Marshalls continued paying its employees in the aftermath of the hurricane.
A TJX Company spokeswoman confirmed it CNN after asked on a Facebook post that received over 41,000 shares.
Spokeswoman Erika Tower explained, “We believe it is the right thing for us to do under the circumstances.”
There are 29 stores located all over the island Puerto Rico. Information on how many stores are open or the number of employees working there is unknown.
