A man out of Brownsville, TX has admitted to stealing $1.2 million worth of fajitas over the last 9 years.
According to WGN 9 News, former South Texas juvenile department employee, Gilberto Escaramilla was fired and arrested in August after police received a search warrant and found multiple packs of Tex-Mex food his refrigerator.
An investigation revealed through invoices that Escaramilla would get the county-funded food deliveries and deliver it to his customers.
It all went wrong when Escaramilla missed work for a medical appointment. On that day, a delivery driver arrived at his place of work with 800 pounds of fajitas.
It was a bit confusing because according to officials the juvenile department doesn’t serve fajitas.
