A student at a middle school in Mesquite, Texas was forced to kneel and beg a teacher in front of her class for a test.

Her parents Fred and Nikitia Moore are calling the incident inappropriate and humiliating.

News 8 reports that Moore’s daughter, an eighth-grader at A.C. New Middle School in Balch Springs, TX, was told by her teacher to ask another teacher entering the classroom for a Scantron test.

When she asked, according to her father Fred the teacher replied, “Get on your knees and beg,” and his daughter replied no.

The Moore’s daughter told them that the teacher repeated it five times before, with her own teacher encouraging the action until she did.

“In the process of her even kneeling, she said one of the boys in the class yelled out, ‘Oooh, she’s getting down on her knees,” said mother Nikitia Moore told News 8.

Embarrassed, their daughter told them of the incident the next day and they headed straight to administration.

“What were they thinking? What was going on with these two teachers?” asked Nikitia.

Mesquite ISD will not identify the teachers however they have been put on administrative leave and the school district is investigating the incident.

In a statement written to News 8 the school district states, “We can’t disclose specifics of further consequences because it’s an employee matter. The behavior is completely unacceptable and we’re taking it very seriously.”

“I feel no 13-year-old should have to go through what my daughter went through,” says Moore.

Fred and Nikitia Moore say what the school district is doing is not enough and that the teachers need more than administrative leave.
