After Hurricane Irma swept through the state of Georgia, over 200,000 residents of were left without power.

The state is also dealing with multiple road closures because of the storm.

Georgia Power one of the main power suppliers in the state reported that around 125,000 of their customers are in the dark. While another power supplier Georgia EMC says that more than 80,000 of their customers have no electricity.

But they are hopeful as they’ve determined a time window for customers to start seeing electricity back in their homes.

In an interview with WSB-TV Atlanta, Rachel Ramsay a resident of Midtown Atlanta says a crew showed up to fix the power lines in her area. She said, “The wires fell, the transformers started sparking, the trees are falling and we called Georgia power and they said, ‘We’ll get there when we get there.’”

According to Georgia Power, 8,000 of their workers hit the streets across Georgia to restore power. Statewide about 1 million customers lost power due to Hurricane Irma.
