After a white supremacist rally over the statue of Gen. Robert E. Lee at the University of Virginia that sparked a violent protest in Charlottesville, Virginia cities across the nation have begun the removal of statues honoring Confederate leaders.

However, the city of Philadelphia is still debating the removal of a statue of former Philadelphia police commissioner from 1968 to 1971. He is famous for the horrible treatment of Black people in the city. Ordering his officers to deal with them brutally.

Since Charlottesville, the city has been calling for the removal of his statue because it represents racism and bigotry.

NBC 10 News reports that a sculpture of an Afro Pic has been placed several feet away from the Rizzo statue.

The sculpture was put up by “All Power for All People” a group created by the multimedia artist Hank Wills Thomas as part of Mural Arts Philadelphia public art and history project.
