Chris Brown is years past his infamous incident with Rihanna but he’s still struggling to accept his actions on that much-publicized night. Now that his probation is over and both have moved on in their lives and careers, Brown has decided to finally address the rumors of what happened that night in detail.

In his new documentary, Welcome To My Life, Brown details the events of the early morning hours of February 8, 2009 when a then 19-year-old Brown and his 20-year-old girlfriend got into a physical altercation in his car in the streets of Los Angeles’ Hancock Park neighborhood. The end result of that was Brown’s arrest and the viral photo of a battered Rihanna which impacted both their careers. He ultimately pled guilty to felony assault and completed his probation in March of 2015.

Since then, he’s had other issues – violating that probation at one point, getting accused of assault in a bizarre incident at his home, and having a restraining order granted to his ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran, who also accused him of abuse and threatening her.

Brown tells his side of the story in detail for the first time below, confirming many of the rumors about the incident:

While Rihanna hasn’t publicly responded to Brown’s video, she did post this on her Instagram yesterday.

Coincidence?

What’s your take on Brown’s version of the events?
