Steven Jesse Harris was charged with killing his father in 2005. He’s a schizophrenic, who was diagnosed in 2008 while in jail. He went away for 11 years. Roland talks with Judge Roland E. Moore who said, “No one said it was wrong”.
A black prosecutor by the name of Scott Felon was elected in the district. When he was elected he began cleaning up the system, including helping in this case. Roland says, “When blacks become prosecutors they are fair and just.”
Steven Jesse Harris’ twin brother hired a lawyer to help the case. Harris will be released into his brother’s care.
Harris was also charged with kidnapping a woman and shooting at three police officers. Roland asked the judge if any one said anything about this and he said, “No judge anywhere who said ‘yo we got a problem'”.
A federal lawsuit will be filled soon. There were no public apologies from the state or county.
