In a truly disturbing story of social media and jealousy, a Chicago teenager was run down by a romantic rival. Tatyanna Lewis, 18, the daughter of a Chicago police officer, was reportedly engaged to 24-year-old Tyshaun Page. His ex-girlfriend and mother of his toddler son, who has yet to be identified, exchanged angry messages on Facebook in the days prior.
That proved to be Lewis’ last message. After visiting a friend’s home, witnesses say her attacker forced her into a tree, hitting and then running over her.

Lewis’s assailant drove off, but left the damaged SUV blocks away, reportedly with a child in the back seat. Charges have yet to be announced.

Page responded to Lewis death via social media as well, with several posts including the post above and then broadcasting a Facebook Live where he appears to be getting high, and threatening to hurt anyone who disrespects him in the comments. Lewis’ page, now an active memorial page, has attracted comments from sympathetic to victim-blaming.
“I’m hurt, yo,” Page says at one point. “Y’all took my baby away from me,” he says to the camera.
Lewis’ alleged killer is in custody.
