This is it. Season 2 of Underground is ending tonight and it may signal the end of the series, as a sale of WGN’s parent company means some changes are afoot. So for those of you who’ve taken the journey this far, it may be coming to a permanent end. Watch social media for a final say on whether or not there will be a Season 3. But at least this summer, you’ll have the return of Queen Sugar, Power, Being Mary Jane and Insecure to sustain you.

The synopsis for the season finale:

Season two of WGN America’s hit TV series “Underground,” will come to a jaw-dropping close in the finale episode “Soldier” airing Wednesday, May 10 at 10:00 p.m. (ET/PT). Strategies change as Harriet (Aisha Hinds) is recruited by Jim Brown’s men, and Daniel (Bokeem Woodbine) makes a desperate plea to Elizabeth (Jessica de Gouw) and Georgia (Jasika Nicole) to help save his family, causing Elizabeth to make a drastic decision. Plans continue to digress for August (Christopher Meloni) when he’s left alone with the unpredictable Ernestine (Amirah Vann), while Patty Cannon (Sadie Stratton) becomes the victim of her own pursuit.
