Now looking to be released (in a limited form) on Christmas Day (Dec. 25) instead of 01-06-17, to qualify as an Oscar hopeful, is Hidden Figures from Fox starring Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, and Janelle Monae.
And if you’re feenin’ to see the film on Christmas day, you’re probably interested in knowing what theaters in what cities will showing the film.
Well, according to Shadow and Act, the pic’s director, “Ted Melfi, shared the above image on Twitter, which lists the theaters where the much-anticipated feature film will open for its initial December 25 limited run. Unfortunately, it’s not a large image so you might have to use a magnifying glass or zoom if your vision isn’t 20/20.”
The film adaptation of Margot Lee Shetterly’s book of the same name is the untold true story of some of the African-American women mathematicians who worked at NASA during the Civil Rights era.
At the center of Shetterly’s Hidden Figures are Katherine Johnson, Mary Jackson, Dorothy Vaughan, Kathryn Peddrew, Sue Wilder, Eunice Smith and Barbara Holley, who all worked at NASA during the Civil Rights era, often referred to as “the colored computers.”
Shetterly, whose father was one of the first African-American engineers employed by NASA, is a journalist.
