Fans of VH1’s hit reality show Love and Hip Hop have followed series star Yandy Smith and her love affair with Mendeecees Harris which produced two children and eventually led to the altar in a lavish, over-the-top wedding made for reality TV. But what happens when it’s revealed that the televised nuptials were merely for the cameras? Well, that is the question that many fans are asking themselves after it was revealed that Yandy and Mendeecees aren’t actually married.
In a clip for an upcoming show, Smith is seen telling her friend Kimbella that while she and Mendeecees have a rock-solid partnership that is rooted in love, they do not have a partnership that is recognized by the government. There has been speculation that because of Mendeecees’ current incarceration and the fact that a legal marriage would combine the couple’s assets, it would make Yandy responsible for paying child support for Mendeecees’ kids and possibly supporting their mothers.
So what does this shocking new information mean? Maybe that once Mendeecees serves out his eight-year prison sentence, he and Yandy will sign the necessary paperwork to make things official..legally.
