A judge recently ordered Laura Govan to pay her ex and former NBA star Gilbert Arenas $110,000 for saying that he had an STD in emails that she leaked to numerous blogs. Arenas claimed that the email was humiliating stalled his ability to work on his mobile app without distraction. He was initially seeking a seven figure payment but the judge denied it on the grounds that Govan simply didn’t have the money to pay up.
Govan was previously ordered to pay Gilbert’s $3 million for lawyer fees and damages in his defamation case after she created a fake email account and “leaked” details to bloggers about her ex-husband giving her multiple STD’s during the course of their relationship. Laura also accused him of sleeping with her sister, and she triggered a firestorm on social media when she accused Arenas of being the father of former co-star Draya Michele’s son. She also claimed Gilbert arranged to have Draya attacked.
Arenas slapped her with a lawsuit alleging she violated a court order in which she agreed not to make “derogatory or disparaging remarks” against him. He also accused Govan of leaking legal docs that jeopardized their custody arrangement and violated rules for exchanging their four children.
In their latest round of drama, a judge awarded a default judgment in the case, in which Govan has been ordered to pay $110,110 for Gilbert’s emotional distress, reports TMZ.
Laura doesn’t seem worried about the court ruling. On Sunday (Sept. 25) morning, she shared on Instagram an inspirational video of Oprah. “My life is right [where] I want it to be,” she wrote.
