“Straight Outta Compton” star Corey Hawkins returns to Broadway next spring alongside Allison Janney and John Benjamin Hickey in the revival of Six Degrees of Separation.

The actor will play Paul, the young African American con man who passes himself off as the college friend of the son of well-heeled New York couple Ouisa and Flan Kittredge, setting off a complicated trail of deceit.

Paul was played in the original 1990 Broadway production by Courtney B. Vance, who received a Tony nomination for the role. Will Smith took on the part for the 1993 screen adaptation.

As previously announced, Janney and Hickey will play the Kittredges, who put Paul up for the night after he claims to have been mugged, but are subsequently shocked to find him in bed with a hustler.

Hawkins, who made a mark in Hollywood as Dr. Dre in “Straight Outta Compton,” will next be seen in “Kong: Skull Island,” and on television in Fox’s franchise reboot, “24: Legacy.”

He last appeared on Broadway in 2013 in a mixed-race staging of Romeo and Juliet, which starred Orlando Bloom and Condola Rashad.
